Hello! I am Sylvia; I joined the Area Dental team in April of 2023, starting as a hygienist extern while attending dental hygiene school at Madison College. I’m so grateful Area Dental offers this program to new grads, because it ultimately set me up for success. Once I graduated and received my official licensure, I had a smooth transition coming on as a full time dental hygienist!
When choosing career paths, I always knew I wanted something in health care because I find fulfillment in helping others. I am passionate about patient education and empowering patients with information regarding prevention and promotion of healthy habits. Not only do hygienists clean teeth, we provide the tools and knowledge to maintain your oral health when you leave our chair. I think it’s very important to keep patients in the loop with their oral health. As a hygienist, it is not our job to be judgmental, our job is to guide our patients and help them accordingly. This career requires compassion and understanding and I provide my patients with just that!
When I’m not in the office, you’ll find me enjoying quality time with my family and friends! I love to shop till I drop, explore new places with my long term boyfriend, and snuggle my animals at home. I look forward to providing you with reasons to smile!
